Astro Vitals
Mod that adds vitals such as hunger, thirst, radiation to your character.
To see your current stats, open backpack by pressing Q. Once you close backpack by again pressing Q, stats will hide.
Make sure you have "Liquids" mod installed.
1. Hunger
Default longevity (staying/sprinting): 160/120 minutes.
Producing food
You have to craft these items (all of them are already researched):
- Seeder - Machine converting Organic into any type of seed you can plant later. Needs energy.
- T1 pot - Fruits grow in there.
- Organic Water Extractor + Small Liquid Tank - Check "2. Thirst" chapter below, this is needed because of water resource.
Steps to produce a food:
- Take Organic resource and put it inside Seeder. Using Seeder console select type of fruit you want it to produce.
- Meanwhile find Clay resource and put it in your T1 pot.
- Take your Small Liquid Tank with water inside and put it on your T1 pot.
- Everything's ready, plant your seed from Seeder to the pot.
- Once growing finished (takes around 7-12 minutes), hold [F] to harvest and there you go, you got food.
You can also follow pot's tooltip messages, it tells you what it needs.
Mid-game: More fruit types
Don't forget to research fruit types in backpack research catalog, they will immediately appear in Seeder console panel and they have better properties.
Mid-game: Canning fruits
You can put a multiple fruits into a single can. This allows you to fit 10 tomatoes for example into single item slot, instead of 10 tomatoes taking 10 backpack slots. It's just ideal for keeping hunger stable on long explorations.
Make sure to research Food Canner & Food Can first. Then using small printer, craft both of these. Put Food Can inside Food Canner and then start putting there any kind of fruit you want to pack. That's it, once you're done, take Food Can out and don't forget, food cans are not refillable.
2. Thirst
Default longevity (staying/sprinting): 120/60 minutes.
Producing water
You have to craft these 3 items (all of them are already researched):
- Organic water extractor - Give it organic, some energy and it will produce water for you.
- Small Liquid Tank - Stores small amount of liquid in there. You will need it to transfer water from O. W. Extractor to W. Dispenser. You can't drink from it!
- Water Dispenser - Stores water and you can drink from it anytime you want.
Mid-game: Bottles
You can research and craft bottles, which can store water and keep you hydrated on long expeditions. Also they are refillable.
3. Radiation
Default longevity (staying/sprinting): depends on player location/sprinting isn't affecting this vital.
Radiation system is easy to understand, all it depends on player location:
- The closer to the planet core you are, the faster radiation is raising.
- If you are on the Aatrox, Sun room or alien island, radiation will be raising no matter what.
- Being out of the both situations listed above -> radiation will be decreasing.
- The most extreme case: Being near Aatrox core, because you get both penalties at the same time (being near core + aatrox itself)

Too difficult?
Mod has built-in cheat panel, allowing you to disable/enable individual vital. You can also speed up or slow down vitals ticking to make game more difficult or easier, as you wish.
When opened backpack, press END key to open cheat panel.
Ideas/Future updates
- More water variants, not just dirty water.
- More plants to grow.
- Baking / post processing of food.
- Greenhouse - possibility to farm on all planets/moons
