Burnside_Carbine

The Burnside Carbine was an early breechloading rifle that saw combat during the American Civil War. It was well-liked by the Union army in spite of its shortcomings; for example, despite using a metallic cartridge, it still required the user to apply a percussion cap under the hammer as well.
