Colt Buntline Special
The one and only BIG IRON.Details
The Colt Buntline Special was a long-barrel version of the Colt Single Action Army; originally it was a special-order weapon intended as a "buggy rifle," a type of takedown rifle with a removeable stock. The revolver gets its name from Ned Buntline, a novelist who claimed that Wyatt Earp carried a similar pistol at the O.K. Corral. Today, the Buntline Special is best known as the inspiration behind Marty Robbins' song 'Big Iron'.
