The First Expeditions: In 2137, the first temporary colony was established to study the manor and its contents. For three weeks, progress was steady—dozens of relics catalogued, scanned, and sent to orbit. Then the disappearances began. An engineer vanished near a sealed hallway—his footprints simply stopped. Days later, a linguist investigating a chamber of humming objects went silent. Her tools remained, perfectly arranged on the floor, as if delicately placed by invisible hands. After that, the survivors began reporting something stranger still: The sound of scissors. Soft. Crisp. Repeating at irregular intervals. Snip. Snip. Snip. Always behind them. Always just out of reach. Sometimes echoing faintly through the walls of the manor. Other times, so close they felt breathless. The sound followed them—even after leaving the building. Even in the sealed exploration suits. Some heard it in their dreams. Others in the silence of their own thoughts. After 42 days, only 11 of 33 team members were retrieved. Each carried signs of extreme psychological strain. A few had physical scars they couldn’t explain—thin, clean cuts, as though made with surgical precision.

Other Anomalies: Attempts to revisit the moon failed. Some ships lost contact mid-approach. Others returned empty, with no memory of what had occurred. Orbital monitors recorded purple fog across the surface. A persistent audio frequency near the manor’s coordinates—barely audible, but repeating a metallic snipping rhythm every 33 seconds. A drone captured a final image before shutting down: a tall figure standing atop the manor’s spire, holding what appeared to be a long, gleaming object in one hand. Possibly shears. The Agency for Extraplanetary Civilizations sealed off 374-Feaden, classifying it Anomalous Zone Level Danger. No further missions were authorized.
