Whats is this mod?
This mod revamps the trainers' skill trees, making them more specialized and oriented towards challenging cooperative gameplay, as well as inviting the player to get to know new trainers and game mechanics to improve their gaming experience.
Installation
- Download and install r2modman. follow the installation procedures and select Outward definitive edition when it launches.
- Download OutHard Gameplay Overhaul through the R2modman mod manager.
- Download OutHard Gameplay Overhaul Mod configs and settings and follow the installation guide below.
- Some mods required for Outhard may be in older versions for better compatibility with the mod's functions, so please do not update them.
Installation Guide
In R2modman, click on Settings and then on Browse profile folder.
Your current profile on R2modman will be opened. It is highly recommended that when downloading Outhard, you create a new profile without additional mods to ensure a better experience.
Move the additional download to your profile folder. This download is a new BepInEx folder containing settings and modifications of the mods that Outhard needs to function properly.
With the additional download inside your profile folder, extract its contents into the profile folder and accept any file replacement requests. That's it, you're ready to start your new journey on Outhard.

Focused on the manipulation of corruption and your inner wind, this trainer will instruct you in the vile ways of blood magic and the manipulation of domains that stretch your consciousness to achieve incomparable power at the cost of your very being.
Speedster
Focused on close combat, this trainer will instruct you in techniques to expand your senses, speed and instinct as well as techniques to make your body more agile, responsive and resilient against the adversities of the scourge.
Enmerkar Forest
Cabal Hunter
Focused on long range combat with bows, this trainer will instruct you to become a master of archery and wilderness survival with deadly shooting techniques and shamanic knowledge of the wind cabal. You will have access to item and equipment making techniques to help you clear any terrain and destroy all who oppose you.
Warrior Berzerker
Focused on close combat and fury maintenance, this trainer will instruct you to be a true titan on the battlefield. With powerful area control attacks and fury maintenance and incitement techniques, you'll be able to incite enemies to attack you, leaving them vulnerable while protecting your allies with devastating blows.
Gunner Enginner
Focused on firearms combat and creation and maintenance of equipment and explosives, this trainer will instruct you in the use of Levantine technology, from simple pistols to elaborate firearms such as rifles and bombs. With this knowledge, you'll be one step ahead of any situation; as long as you're prepared and equipped, you'll be ready to face and destroy any adversity placed in front of you.
Rune Sage
Focused on conjuring the intricacies of rune magic, this trainer will teach you to be a true master of the ethereal, conjuring runes to produce effects ranging from aid for you and your allies to massive damage against your enemies. Your versatility in any situation will give you the advantage over any enemy, as will your knowledge of the arcane and your ability to compile knowledge and powerful grimoires of power.
Hallowed Marsh
Mystic Alchemist
Focused on making powerful alchemical compounds, this trainer will instruct you in making and applying mystical varnishes and powerful combat alchemicals that will help you and your allies against any type of situation. From healing through arcane vapors to infusing your allies' weapons and armor with mystical elements, you'll have the right strategy for every situation.
Warrior Monk
Focused on the combination of martial combat and divine magic, this trainer will instruct you in the way of the Elatt's monk, from using your own body as a deadly weapon and a bastion of resilience, to the use of Ki control techniques and divine energy control to heal, protect and remove harmful conditions from you and your allies.
Philosopher
Focused on the conjuration of the ice sigil and the use of chakrans, this trainer will teach you how to master the ice sigil and become a chakran master. From protection techniques and extending your connection with leyline to mana conduction techniques, you will be under the offensive protection of the icy elements at your command.
Caldera
Primal Ritualist
focused on the ancient art of echos conjuration, this trainer will instruct you in the mastery of totems and echos as well as how to use elemental particles and rituals to extract their power. from powerful elemental attacks that debilitate your enemies to buffs and area effects to protect and heal you and your allies.
Training not just by mentors.
As well as the purchase of trainers skills by defeating enemies in combat you can acquire Expertise, this new feature will allow you to develop your character with unique characteristics focused on your play style.
Your character will have access to a total of 20 basic skills (breakthroughs, initial and story line skills do not count towards this amount). at any time you can choose to discard the knowledge of these skills in order to learn new ones.
Through the Expertise Handling skill you can convert your expertise gained from defeating enemies into great expertise, a valuable resource that can be exchanged for influence.
Through the Expertise Refining skills you can convert your great expertise and insights to permanently improve your character's physical and mental characteristics. each characteristic can reach up to +30 and grants bonuses in various statuses depending on the characteristic
By exploring and looting the depths of dungeons or the corpses of fallen enemies, your character can acquire knowledge about various ambits through ancient scrolls of knowledge and insights.
Magic and ancient techniques.
Outward magic has always been surrounded by ritualism and mystery. no spoilers here my friend... explore the world of aurai to reveal its secrets.
Trainers scattered across Aurai can teach you to master the magical arts in a variety of ways, but by exploring the far reaches of dungeons and forgotten places you can acquire lost knowledge about this powerful art. teachings on sigil rites and arcane combinations that ancient masters left behind.
Exotic weapons and ancient grimoires of weapon techniques can be found in the possession of powerful creatures. Such knowledge that not even the greatest masters of Aurai possess can be yours if you defeat them.
Ancient relics have been discovered in the volcanic region of Caldera, legendary items of extraordinary power waiting to be awakened. These relics have fragments scattered throughout Aurai, many of them in the possession of powerful creatures that, when acquired, can unlock great power over their bearers.
A cabal of mages in Abrassar has discovered a rare fruit corrupted by the scourge which, when consumed, can reverse ties with the leyline, but beware that dealing with such corruption can cause severe damage to those who wish to do so.
Merciless and fierce combat.
Combat is deadlier than ever. you and your allies should be much more prepared and cautious when facing any enemy.
Enemies will detect you from a much greater distance, attack you more aggressively, and quickly approach any conflict as reinforcements, creating chaotic and unexpected situations. Whenever you are hit in combat, your enemy will begin to slowly regenerate health and receive a bonus to their movement speed.
Dodging will no longer grant you invulnerability frames, dodge effectively and position yourself well. rolling into an electric blast from a Mantis Shrimp is no longer a good idea.
Friendly fire can kill you just as faster than your enemies, position yourself well and fight smart.
Survival and adaptability.
Survival has become more difficult... riches will be more scarce, the cost of repairing and maintaining equipment and the knowledge to obtain it has become more significant. you will no longer be able to eat, drink and sleep to maintain buffs at all times because your satiety will have a much greater impact on gameplay.
Your hunger, thirst, and fatigue will occur more frequently. There is a maximum limit to your needs, which, when reached, will give you a small bonus related to that need; however, when you reach more than 100% in a need, you will no longer be able to satisfy it until it falls below 100%.
Your character is just an ordinary person and until you achieve glory through your feats and training it will stay that way. You start the campaign with a reduction in your health, stamina, damage, resistance and regeneration.
Soroborian caravanners in each city can offer mercenary contracts to solve local problems, ranging from simple collections to hunting powerful creatures. These contracts can yield wealth and experience for groups of adventurers willing to accept the challenge. Mercenary contracts can be submitted in any city as long as the character has the items in their inventory.
A currency called Influence will replace silver, it will be used mainly to purchase training, and it will be much harder to obtain. the gold coin is a new currency that will be used as the common currency of exchange between vendors and merchants throughout Aurai.
knowing craft is the key.
No more wiki or knowledge of higher deities my friend, learn the recipes and craft your items and equipment. ignored recipes and hungry vendors await you. now not every dirty pleb may get his hands on that great life potion. But don't worry though, new tools and ways to get items have been added to make your life less miserable. there's also a gift from your ancestors, a powerful elixir that can make you turn back from poor life choices... at a price.
A recipe for a powerful elixer has been passed down to you by your ancestors that will allow you to reset your skills and breakthrough points to reallocate them to other skill trees. This same potion is also used as a component of the expertise reneaw skill, an ancient ritual that allows you to recover attribute points spent on the character in order to reallocate them.
New recipes related to the creation of alchemical items and equipment have been added. The ingredients for most alchemical items have undergone some changes and their results are more modest. It is now possible to consume potions while moving.
All equipment has a chance of having some of its characteristics improved or worsened to some degree or of having different characteristics to a “vanilla” item, opening up new possibilities for creating diverse builds and making powerful items truly unique. In addition, a new item called Transmutation Rune can be used to reroll the stats of any equipment, allowing them to be tailored to your needs.
Your new beginning.
Outhard settings allow up to 10 allies to join you on your adventure, from the moment you leave in the between your friends can join you. but beware, the more players are online in the session the more difficult the enemies will be. this mod has been tested and balanced taking into account only the dependency mods. Additional mods or modifications to Outhard's base settings are not supported and may cause bugs and malfunctions in the mod. Use at your own peril.
