Lexicon Shield

Why?

Did you ever thought that having a book in your hand wile fighting might risk ruining it? Yeah, me too, the moment a LARP sword (one covered in foam) almost cut in half my pg spellbook. So perhaps it might be better to use a thicker metal cover for a lexicon. Since we are there we could also increase the surface (now that the book is resistant) in order to remove the need to flip the pages.

Wow, now our book is a shield with the pages of the lexicon sticked inside ready to be read.

How?

You only need a Steel Shield, a Lexicon, and some Iron Scrap (1) to fix the paper inside the shield through the survival crafting, the resulting shield will be a bit less durable considering that each hit might loosen some pin.

Well, this mod has a very focused scope, but perhaps keeping a shield so near while channeling magic for years might have some unexpected effect, who knows. But don't worry it would probably take too long, it is something for your children to worry about.
