Passive-ish Changes:

  • Base Damage 14 => 12.
    • Base Damage normalization, there's no real reason that engi has higher base damage.
  • Base Jump Power 15 => 20.
  • Base Move Speed 7 => 7.5.
    • Gives Engineer a bit of mobility that still fits in with his theme. I should probably make this a passive later down the line, but I haven't figured that out yet.

M1 Changes:

  • Bouncing Grenade Count 8 => 3.
  • Bouncing Grenade Damage 100% => 160%.
  • Bouncing Grenade now has no charging.
  • Bouncing Grenade AoE 3.5m => 4.5m.
    • Brings back the Risk of Rain 1 beloved grenades. Really not sure why they changed them in Risky 2, as these feel much better, but are still decently difficult to aim.

M2 Changes:

  • Pressure Mines Damage 900% => 1100%.
  • Pressure Mines Charges 4 => 2.
  • Pressure Mines Cooldown 8s => 4.5s.
  • Pressure Mines Max 4 => 8, Increased by Backup Mag.
    • Mostly buffs to pressure mines, also makes Backup Mag useful.
  • Spider Mines Damage 600% => 700%.
  • Spider Mines Charges 4 => 2.
  • Spider Mines Cooldown 8s => 4s.
  • Spider Mines Max 4 => 8, Increased by Backup Mag.
    • Same thing here, but I felt inclined to buff them a bit, with Pressure Mines' lower arm time which i didn't mention :chad:.

Utility Changes:

  • Bubble Shield does 50% DPS in a 30m AoE.
  • Bubble Shield knocks back enemies out of it.
  • Bubble Shield Cooldown 25s => 2x9s.
  • Bubble Shield Duration 15s => 8s.
  • Bubble Shield Radius 10m => 17.5m.
  • Bubble Shield Max 1 => 2, Increased by Hardlight Afterburner.
    • Gives it a really good defensive niche and a bit of AoE damage. Had to make charges jank so it's not as strong with Bandolier or Afterburner.
  • Thermal Harpoons Range 150m => Infinite.

Special Changes:

  • TR12 Gauss Auto Turret Base Damage 16 => 14.
  • TR12 Gauss Auto Turret Base Health 130 => 150.
    • Nerf to damage, buff to health to make Engi less reliant on them. Also a health buff to make it more distinct.
  • TR58 Carbonizer Turret Base Damage 16 => 14.
  • TR58 Carbonizer Turret Base Health 130 => 100.
  • TR58 Carbonizer Turret Base Speed 7 => 11.
  • TR58 Carbonizer Turret Sprint Distance 110m => 35m.
    • Nerf to damage and health, but a good buff to speed. Same reasons as above, also buffed AI quite a bit to allow them to sprint without it being overpowered.
