The Nambu Experimental SMGs were created by Japan before development and adoption of the Type 100. Both the Type I and Type II are mechanically similar, being closed-bolt weapons that fire 8x22mm.

The Type I comes with a 50 round magazine that's cross-compatible with the other Japanese magazines, including the Type 100.
