The Vektor R4 is a South African 5.56×45mm NATO assault rifle that was meant to replace the aging FAL rifles. The Vektor definitely looks like a Galil, functions like a Galil, probably is a kind of Galil and you'll be right. The locally produced variant of the Galil was chosen to replace the old equipment because of its ruggedness in the harsh conditions of the African environment.
Functionally it's no different than the Galil, however the lack of bottle-opening feature must have pissed off quite a few people. The 35 rounder magazine is included and also its ability to take muzzle devices, hidden rail at the top and also thanks to Sir Carl, a quirky M203 underslung attachment as well.
And as part of alt-history, the mod also included the Draka variant, which is a more what-if scenario where South Africa becomes a world superpower and so forth. Features the same but longer barrel option and even a WW2-esque drum magazine.
