RainDance
A ritual totem for Valheim that lets you tempt the skies, sometimes blessing you, sometimes punishing you. Mythic feedback that you learn over time.
RainDance is designed to feel vanilla-adjacent: lightweight, server-safe, and atmospheric.
Warning: This mod is dangerous and not recommended for hardcore runs without prior mod knowledge.
CORE
- Build and place the Rain Dance Totem
- Interact to begin a ritual (dance emote + configurable audio)
- After a short anticipation, the skies deliver a verdict
- Weather may change (configurable chance)
- Results are described through mythic “god lines” instead of explicit weather names
- The totem shatters after each ritual as if it can’t hold the storm within
BEHAVIOR
- The weather choice is decided server-side
- Clients receive forced environment settings for the duration
- “God lines” hint at the outcome without spoiling it directly
- Example: "Thor answers your call."
- Example: "Freya swings her blade."
- Designed so you gradually learn what each omen means through play
- Ritual odds (defaults): 75% chance to change weather, 25% no change
- Outcome split: 51% Good change, 24% Bad change (Bad outcomes evenly split across the bad pool)
SERVERS
- Server-authoritative outcome selection
- Works on:
- Dedicated servers
- Listen servers
- Single-player
- No client spoofing of results
- Optional client-side lightning visuals for reliable presentation
CONFIGS
- Global cooldown (seconds)
- Ritual anticipation time (seconds)
- Forced weather duration (seconds)
- Chance to change weather (0–1)
- Good vs bad weighting (0–1)
- Good and bad environment pools (CSV)
- Optional audio toggles and volumes
