Nearly everything as of v72 can harm Pikmin.
Pikmin
Pikmin are completely harmless to players. When idle, a Pikmin will follow any player that it comes into contact with, choosing them as their leader. Pikmin automatically follow the player who plucked them or took them out of an Onion.
You can purchase a whistle to call and manage Pikmin more effectively. You can also buy a PluckAphone to pluck Pikmin more easily.
An on-screen counter appears when at least one Pikmin is spawned. For those unfamiliar with the Pikmin games, here's what the counter numbers mean:
- In Squad: The number of Pikmin currently in your group.
- In Field: The number of non-wild Pikmin spawned on the map.
- In Existence: The total number of non-wild Pikmin, including those spawned on the map and those stored in an Onion.
Pikmin "mature" over time, indicated by the leaf on their sprout. The sprout progresses from a leaf to a bud, and finally to a flower, which represents maximum maturity. Maturity only affects Pikmin speed, with flowered Pikmin being the fastest.
Pikmin Speeds by Maturity:
- Red, Blue, Yellow, Bulbmin, Winged, Rock, and Ice Pikmin:
- Leaf: 5
- Bud: 10
- Flower: 15
- Purple Pikmin:
- Leaf: 3
- Bud: 7
- Flower: 10
- White Pikmin:
- Leaf: 7
- Bud: 13
- Flower: 18
- Glow Pikmin:
- Leaf: 6
- Bud: 11
- Flower: 17
Interacting with Pikmin:
Pikmin can be thrown at items or enemies.
-
Carrying Items:
- When thrown at an item, Pikmin will pick it up and carry it to one of the following locations:
- Ship: If indoors, they will take the item directly to the ship.
- Main Entrance: The primary entrance of the current facility.
- Fire Exit: If closer than the main entrance while indoors.
- Elevator: If inside a mineshaft or LC Office with no other pathable exit on the current floor.
- Cruiser: If closer than the ship.
- Player: If carrying a specific item (e.g., "maneater").
- Onion: When carrying an enemy body.
- The more Pikmin carrying an item, the faster it will be transported.
- Items carried to the ship by Pikmin are automatically marked as collected; no need to redrop them.
- When thrown at an item, Pikmin will pick it up and carry it to one of the following locations:
-
Attacking Enemies:
- When thrown at an enemy, Pikmin will latch on and attack. They deal less damage than a shovel or a sign.
- Red Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.05
- Blue, Yellow, Bulbmin, and Glow Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.01
- Ice Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.005
- Rock Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.025
- Thrown Bounce Damage: 0.1
- Winged Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.005
- Purple Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.1
- 1-second stun upon impact (slam).
- White Pikmin:
- Attack Damage: 0.1
- Death Poison Damage: 2.5
If a Pikmin is thrown out of bounds or into a pit, it will teleport back to the nearest position in bounds.
Spawning
Pikmin have a power level of 0. This means their presence, even in large numbers, does not prevent other entities from spawning.
-
Red, Blue, and Yellow Pikmin:
- Spawn as sprouts on the moon's surface, starting on Day One.
- To pluck a sprout, approach it and hold E.
-
Purple, White, and Bulbmin:
- Spawn as wild Pikmin indoors, starting on Day One.
- Wild Pikmin are invincible and remain idle until they join a player's squad.
-
Rock and Winged Pikmin:
- Spawn as sprouts on the moon's surface after Day Three.
-
Ice Pikmin:
- Spawn as sprouts on the moon's surface after Day Six.
-
Glow Pikmin:
- Spawn from Lumiknolls.
- Lumiknolls begin to appear after Day Six.
- A Lumiknoll activates when a player enters its range, provided a certain amount of in-game time has passed that day.
- To obtain Glow Pikmin, deposit a scrap item into one of its holes. The number of Glow Pikmin spawned will equal the number of Pikmin required to carry that item.
- During eclipsed moons, Lumiknolls can be activated all day but will produce half the amount of Pikmin they would normally yield before 5 PM on a standard day.
Onions
To preserve Pikmin between rounds, you must acquire each Pikmin type's Onion.
- Most Onions have a 45% chance of spawning indoors.
- White and Purple Pikmin Onions have a 22% chance of spawning, but only on high-power-level moons.
- Only one Onion per Pikmin type can spawn indoors.
If an Onion is taken outside, it will activate (removing all items from your inventory in the process) and land near the ship. Once collected, an Onion cannot spawn again.
Every Pikmin type has an Onion. However, White and Purple Pikmin Onions are rarer. So aternatively, you can purchase a Pikmin Container to store White and Purple Pikmin between rounds.
IMPORTANT: To buy the Pikmin Container, you must type pikmin-container
into the terminal. Lethal Company's text parser will not accept 'Pikmin Container'.
Onions (excluding the Pikmin Container) can produce Pikmin sprouts when Pikmin deliver an enemy's body to them. The number of sprouts generated will match the carry strength of the body.
Pikmin will be saved at the end of a round if any of the following conditions are met:
- They are near or inside the ship when it leaves.
- They are near their respective Onion type when the ship leaves.
- They are stored inside their respective Onion when the ship leaves.
Towards the end of the day, a counter will display how many Pikmin are in danger of being left behind (i.e., do not meet any of the above conditions). This counter excludes Pikmin whose Onion type has not yet been collected.
