You're in the middle of a battle at your base, and that Fuling Berserker is about to batter down your gate. You reach for your hammer and try to repair it, only to find you've placed that huge stone block from your last build.
Combat Repair will automatically equip your hammer in Repair mode whenever alerted enemies are nearby. Switch between weapons and hammer and never fumble about in the build selection again.
Of course, once your hammer is equipped, you can still open the build menu and select a piece if needed.
Combat Repair also has an option to always equip your hammer in Repair mode.
You can use Configuration Manager (or similar) mod to change the configuration without exiting the game. You can also force a full configuration update by editing the config file.
